DATUK DR NOOR HISHAM BIN ABDULLAH

Datuk Dr Noor Hisham bin Abdullah is the Director General Ministry of Health Malaysia. He was formerly the Deputy Director General of Health Malaysia (Medical). Prior to the present appointment he was the Head Department of Surgery at the state of the art tertiary referral hospital for breast and endocrine disorder in Putrajaya Hospital, Malaysia. He was the Senior Vice President College of Surgeons Malaysia and the 11th President of the Asian Association of Endocrine Surgeons (Asia AES). He is a Council Member of World Federation of Surgical Oncology.

Datuk Dr Noor Hisham obtained his medical degree Medical Doctor, M.D from National University of Malaysia (UKM) and Master of Surgery M.S from the same university. In 1997, he was awarded Fellowship Training in Breast Endocrine Surgery of Royal Australasian of Surgeons and subsequently he was the Foundation Visitor to the same college at its Annual Scientific Congress in Hong Kong in 2008. He was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London in 2012.

Datuk Dr Noor Hisham has extension publications in local and international journals. The international journals include World Journal Endocrine Surgery, European Journal Surgery and Journal of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Society. He had chapters written in Textbook of Endocrine Surgery Principle and Practices (August 2009) and Textbook of Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery (2010).  Similarly, he has produced numerous papers at national and international meetings.  He delivered the prestigious British Journal Surgery lecture in Birmingham, UK, in 2010.  In 2011, he was the special invited speaker to the Japanese Association of Endocrine Surgery.

PROF DR OMAR HASAN KASULE, SR

Professor Omar Hasan Kasule is a physician holding a doctorate degree in epidemiology from Havard University.  He was with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as the Deputy Dean responsible for developing the medical curriculum.  He moved to the Faculty of Medicine of University Brunei in June 2005 where he taught the undergraduates on epidemiology, biostatistics, and medical ethics. He also taught the postgraduates on advanced research methods and evidence-based health policy and practice. He is currently a lecturer at Faculty of Medicine, King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Fluent in 7 languages, Prof. Omar Hasan Kasule travelled extensively conducting management programs for non - government organizations and community leaders over the past 24 years. Prof Omar Hasan Kasule is a consultant for many hospitals and faculties of medicine in South East Asia on Islamic Medicine and the integration of Islam in medical practice and training.  His writings on these disciplines can be accessed at http://omarkasule.triped.com

Dr Mohammed Ali Albar

DR MOHAMMED ALI ALBAR

Born in Aden, Yemen, on Dec. 29, 1939. He received his MBBS degree (with honours) from Cairo University (1964) and his Diploma of Internal Diseases, Cairo University (1969). He received membership in the Royal Colleges of Physicians (London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow) in February 1971 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London in 1994. He developed interest in bioethics from an Islamic perspective and has participated in meetings and discussions on Islamic jurisprudence and ethics, including those of International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Jeddah, Islamic Fiqh Academy in Mecca and the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS), Kuwait.

He serves as Director of the Medical Ethics Center, International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is an internal medicine consultant and advisor of the Islamic Medicine Department, King Fahd Center for Medical Research, King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah. He authored numerous publications on bioethical questions, including organ transplantation, stem cell research, sperm banks, AIDS, artificial insemination, abortion, contraception, embryology, brain death, and prophetic medicine. He wrote numerous books, one of which is the celebrated work known in English under the title Human Development as Revealed in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith (2002).

PROF DR HAFEEZ UR RAHMAN

Born on Oct. 25, 1955. He received his MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical College in year 1982. Next, he received FCPS in Ophthalmology from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in year 1998 and ICO in the same year.  He is also obtained Advance Diploma in HPE (AKU).

Currently, he serves as Chairman of Health Board Al-Khidmat Foundation since 2015 and is a Vice Dean Academics and International Affairs in Peshawar Medical College since Nov 2007.  He is also serves as Professor and Head of Department of Ophthamology in Peshawar Medical College since March 2008 to till date.  He is also provost for Boarding Students in Peshawar Medical College since Nov 2007. He become a member of Prime Foundation from 2009 to till date and is also a member of Board Trustee of WISM.

He wrote numerous journals, which are Journal of Ophthamology entitled "Role of B-scan in preoperative diagnosis of posterior segment pathologies in cataract patients", Rawal Medical Journal entitled "Prevalence and mode of presentation of Vertical deviation in squit patient and Role of Yag laser Iridotomy in the treatment of Primary Open Angle Glaucoma".  He is also Co Editor of Three FIMA year books.

PROF DR NAJIB UL HAQ

Prof. Dr. Najibul Haq did his graduation from Khyber Medical College. After doing his MCPS in G. Medicine from Pakistan and did his MRCP from UK and a Fellowship of College of Physicians Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Prof. Dr. Najibul Haq started his professional career as Senior Registrar in Medicine 1983 in Khyber Medical College and retired as Professor for the same College. He is Supervisor and Examiner for FCPS Training and Examination in Medicine and Gastroenterology.  

 

He has forty research papers to his credit published in different National and International Medical Journals primarily on focusing Hepatitis. He is also a Member of PMRC Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Convener of Gastroenterology.  One of his main fields of interest is medical education and presently working as Dean Faculty of Medicine, Peshawar Medical College.

PROF DR HJ KALAMHAMIDI BIN ABU BAKAR

Dr. Hj Kalamhamidi is currently the Director and Senior Principal of Mediconsult Sdn Bhd, a healthcare consulting firm that services more than 150 projects in 30 countries. He started his career in commercial and corporate banking for the first five years. Over the next 21 years, he joined 3 groups of private hospital entities and served as Administrator, Chief Executive officer, Group General Manager and Executive Director covering a total number of 19 private hospitals.

During the said period, he also sat on board of several healthcare related companies involved in nursing education, pathology laboratory, rehabilitation services and management training. Currently, he is also the lead consultant for New Life cancer hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam, MSU Specialist Hospital, Malaysia, dialysis centres, 2 public Hospitals in Malaysia and the development of 4 Islamic Hospitals known as “Taman Kesihatan Islam”. He sits in an academic board of two nursing schools in Malaysia and Indonesia, and is a board member of 2 private hospitals and a public hospital in Malaysia.  In the academic field, he holds the past of visiting lecturer at universities in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Dr H. Muhammad Iqbal

DR H. MUHAMMAD IQBAL

Born on May 25, 1971.  Dr H. Muhammad Iqbal currently is a Vice Director of General & Finance Affair in Al-Islam Hospital Bandung. He did his graduation from Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), Faculty of Medicine (1989-1995) and Fellowship in Internal Medicine, Padjadjaran University Bandung (2005-2009). He is married and has four children.

He serves as Internal Medicine Specialist at Rumah Sakit Al Islam, Bandung (2010-present), Lecturer at Faculty of Medicine University Islam Bandung (2010 - present), and Assessor of Hospital Shariah Certification (2015-present).  He also becomes a member of IDI (Indonesian Medical Association) from 1996 till present, PAPDI (Indonesian Internal Medicine Specialist Association) from 2005 till present, MUKASI (Indonesian Islamic Hospital Association) from 2014 till present and PERSI (Indonesian Hospital Association) from 2015 till present.

DR ISHAK BIN MAS'UD

Dr. Ishak Mas’ud graduated from University of Western Australia, Perth in 1983 and subsequently obtained MRCP from Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 1988. He began his career at General Hospital Melaka in 1983 before joining National University of Malaysia (UKM) as trainee lecturer. He then had clinical attachment at Bristol Royal Infirmary, University of Bristol in United Kingdom for 2 years. On his return to Malaysia, he continued his career as a lecturer at UKM for 5 years. He was later promoted as an Associate Professor in 1994. He opted for early retirement to establish Kampung Baru Medical Centre now known as Al-Islam Specialist Hospital.

He is currently the Hospital Director of Al-Islam Specialist Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, Chairman of Islamic Hospital Consortium Malaysia (IHC-Malaysia), Permanent Trustee of Tabung Amanah Pesakit Malaysia (TAPM) and Vice President of Malaysia Relief Agency (MRA). He was previously the central executive committee member of Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) and the founder President of Islamic Medical Association Malaysia (IMAM). To date, he presented many topics on the implementation of Islamic principles in Healthcare in many conferences both locally and international.

Mr. Aiman Mirza Albert bin Abdullah, currently is a Vice Principal, Health Facility Planning Department at Perunding Mediconsult Sdn Bhd. He is obtained Diploma in Architecture and Degree in Bachelor of Architecture (1996) from University Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam.  He continued his study at London South Bank University, UK and obtained his master in MSc Planning Buildings for Health (2010).

He began his career at F.I. Architects Company in Dec 1996-June 1999 as technical assistant. In 2001-2008, he served as project architect for ARC Patnership company, Pakatan Reka Arkitek, Ariffin Architect compan, Faculty of Dentistry Uitm Sungai Buloh, New Forestry HQ for Jabatan Perhutanan, SK Seri Makmur dan SK Simpai, Pahang for Ministry of Education. He served as Medical Planner from year 2008-2012 for few hospitals in Malaysia.  In 2015 until now, he served as Health Facility Planner for Sarawak, Ulu Tiram, Shah Alam, Johore, Pantai Hospital Penang dan George Ken (Malaysia) Berhad company.  He is also a member of Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) and Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM).

MADAM MARIAM BINTI MOHD NASIR

Ms. Mariam has been working in UMMC for about 30 years. She began her career as a Staff Nurse after completion of her 3 years nursing training in College of Nursing, University Malaya and, has developed herself professionally till date.  She has undergone a few courses to make herself more competent and knowledgeable and she believes strongly that learning is a never ending process, continuous without limit and always keeping on looking for ideas and innovation to manage her patients and targeting for excellent.  She plans and has managed both national and international conferences, seminars and workshops and attachment program for Nurses in Malaysia and abroad. Specifically, she was involved in planning and coordinating attachment programs in Enterostomal Therapy Nursing which she is specialized in and also Diabetic Educator Program.  Ms. Mariam started a continuous international ETN attachment for the Asia Pacific region in UMMC which involves countries within the regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Pakistan, India, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

 

Her recent collaboration is with the World Council of Enterostomal Therapy(WCET) and Canadian Association of Enterostomal Therapy(CAET) to help Nepalese Nurses clinical training in her hospital.  Her best achievement in her career is setting up Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Services in UMMC almost single handedly in 1995 till date to ensure she serve her patients in a more professional way.  In her vision to expand the ET services, she embarked on a plan to continuously train more nurses. Since then 13 nurses are fully trained ET specialist and many more nurses are being exposed to ET services through in in-house training, attachment program, seminar, workshops and conferences.  Her priority and passion towards patient care is to make sure her patients are well taken care by qualified nurses who are also competence.

She formed a stoma care support group and actively involves in Malaysian Enterostomal Therapist Nurses Association (METNA), Asian Pacific Enterostomal Therapist Nurses (APETNA) and Stoma care Society of Malaysia.

She was the past president of METNA for 4 years and now was elected as an Advisor to METNA and also the Vice President of Malaysian Ostomy Association (MOsA).  She has vast experience in risk and quality management and have been lecturing topic such Patient Safety Goals, Root Cause Analysis, Quality indicators and many more.  She is also the project manager for the UMMC Operating Theatres/CICU/ICU upgrading project.

Ms. Mariam holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University Technology Mara (UiTM), Bachelor Degree in Nursing Sciences, majoring in Management from University Malaya, Certificate of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Education Program from Princess Margaret Hospital, Hong Kong, and Certificate of Midwifery from Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Basic Nursing from School of Nursing, University Malaya.  Her latest educational development was obtaining a certificate of Nursing Leadership, when she was chosen to be the recipient of Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI) sponsorship to attend a week workshop on Global Nursing Leadership Workshop in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ms Ahlinah Maarof was born in Kuala Lumpur in July 1970 and obtained her secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Puteri Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur.  Graduated from Institut Teknologi MARA in December 1990 with Diploma in Secretarial Science and respectively in 1991, she joined Telekom Malaysia as Stenographer.

 

 For about 11 years (1997-2008), she been served multinational company (MNC-Japanese) – TOTO Washlet (M) Sdn. Bhd. as Head of Administration for Quality Department.  In 2007, completed her Bachelor in Human Resource Development and in April 2010 joint Al Islam Specialist Hospital as Head of Human Resource until today’s date.  Her position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Mrs. Suzal Ashima Sulaiman attended Diploma in Nursing at the Islamic College of Malacca from 1996 - 1998

She started her career as a Staff Nurse in Al Islam Specialist  Hospital, Kuala Lumpur since1999.


In 2001, she attended Post  Basic Midwifery course at College of Nursing Hospital Kuala Lumpur.  She was appointed as Head Nurse in 2007and also responsible in establishing breast feeding counseling for Al Islam Specialist Hospital.  She actively involved in implementati on Al Islam Specialist Hospital’s  intergration of Islamic values and presented papers in Seminars related to Ibadah Friendly Hospital.
